All across the dream
colors and flavors came
warning bells rung
I couldn't find a home that didn't move
Warning bells were ringing
Across the city unknown
faces that would greet then disappear
Flavors that would grace the mouth
But depart like ferries to urgent islands
from across those island towns
I could feel breath on my face
The night air delivered it
A reciprocal sensation
I could smell you
like salt rising off tides inverting
Morning a thief of dreams
wake to confusion
sweat and drool
what a lifetime
in silent slumber
As I remembered the dream
and it all came back to me
Like a childhood taste
telepathy
