Resisting fire

 Extinguish the conflagration
it consumes, it feeds on this
Fires rising higher
Higher than me

kill these flames
Pour them out the pain is here
it is clear and right through me
Rob it's oxygen

Put it out before there's nothing left
Before it burns all there is
The past effort forgotten
Give me just enough water

Kill the flames they burn my peace
climb my ambition set it all alight
leave my routine in ashes
Lively to kill me

Quell the flames and quench this thirst
The kindling new
These logs so old
The flesh and heart... ignited
