One blade of grass poking out of the mound
from the middle of the park
cherpy and so cheery
Grateful to not be buried
lapping up the afternoon sun
smile in the parallel veins
avoiding dog piss by milimeters
raising itself up to the afternoon pinnacle
surrounded by billions of other blades of grass
all connected to some matted rhizome
This blade points out it doesn't necessarily fit
demanding to make it's quota of photosynthesis
dusk tames the vegetation into submission
this blade of grass curls back too
farewelling the light acknowledging the darkness
The cold well forming in the middle of the park
