Work mind

 One hides themselves in what they do
and overexposes themselves in it too
printing their picture for the company sign
and attracting an audience thereby

early and late
work owns the living
becomes the definition of it
the corridor between meetings and jobs

conflicts and disasters
one hides themselves inside it all
or appears out of nowhere wearing the company shirt
identity intact screaming the glib motto

or worse still sarcastically muttering it
inside associating their contribution
to who they are at all
hiding in the clothes of the company

In the sea of merchandise and people
earlier or later retirement will come
the fin up through the surf
meaninglessness the predator
