Milky brown water flows past
Carrying its haul from inland forests
Of debris logs and tonned of mud
Where did all the fish fit
How do they find any space
When the river is swollen with organic muck
And yet there are still fish
A splash and a pattern of ripples
another splash a slight rush of water
through the milk coffee colored surface
Some nimble show off jetting out of the glug
Despite the floating tree litter
The flow is slow and smooth
keen to enter the ocean
