Last breaths uncanny as they are
Life sharp as an eye
last thoughts strange riddles
unsolvable in the dyer
unthinkable in the liver
Last glance as neutral and confusing as birth
you may as well stack balloons
and blow candles
for the surreal shiver of mortality soon
reflect in the steel coffin handles
Last breaths uncanny
A man that taught me to manage
slipping into the outgoing tide
beard below the waves
we reach for a moral to the story
yet it´s a fleeting and arbitrary moral
floating past
one last downpour on the heart
last breath to speak a word
inside the balmy mess of delirium
each wayward word landed well
as the essence inside has no desire to dwell
some invisible realm undiscovered, he is there
toiling like the lost farmer behind his absent stare
