The aboriginal bikeman
The aboriginal bikeman
Outspoken and excited
His name was in the paper
His face was in the news
Thousands of young children
Thought he was the heroe of the day
He went out and made it look easy
Charm and a bag of tricks
A box of voice, a scream and a fight
Maneuvers he taught himself when homeless
My thirsty dog and flat bike tyres humbled me
I couldn´t get close to him
The gates to his fan area were shut
plastered with notices that confirmed nothing
Curiosity pushed into us like a puncture through a tyre
From the outside he looked like a plain man
working on his bicycles
Eager craft and nonchalant exposure
made him somewhat an enigma!
