Mulberry lips
ooh thank you thousand bulbs of sweet
dark reddish into blueblack
There are duckfoot leaves
and rounded serrated leaves
growing out of the pavement like slums
dripping purple liquid over street people faces
caught mulberry guilty
a pauper after a berry
lingering tongues
All seeking those available fruit
waiting for flower to green lump
then to swirl out red to blue
So we might just pull the branch down
to feed ourselves
longing to crush the bulbs
letting them leak out into the galaxy of mouth
the universe of the gut
replenish my loose spirit
transform the ghost of me back to strength
back to solid gums
Hardened teeth
so that I can eat
split that purple
rejuvenate
a mulberry legend
an old silk road story
from out sticky pakistan
to glue like Brazil
