Thah Relevance

 Relevance
each moment and place begs it's relevance
Not from time nor land
But from the human desire for presumptive certitude

Yah relevance strive
The struggle of each of us to matter
In the eyes of some one else
To be the first to repeat the timid friend's joke

With just the right timing
Each endeavouring to be the leasher and unleasher of dogmatism
Thah relevance
Just to get an inch of skin under that limelight

A word or two on a microphone
For an audience obligated to applaud
Yet if relevance dictated, ferociously boo
How much do you matter?

Can you pick up pieces of yourself?
Among the debris of hubris
stitch together a conceit of badge
Verily relevance requires shards of authenticity

Little sellable pieces of yourself
Once gone, so much more expensive to re-acquire
Your category of overconfidence offers no protection
And your bluff will be called on every misplaced bet

For one moment has become the point of your existence
One moment of recognition was more worthy than everything
Starving for relevance
