The teeth of the palm

The palm tree was a lion staring down at the people
people moving so close together they could be water
a river of people
The Forest itself was a lion on it's side relaxing by the bay
growling in the sun

The same sun that reflected off the little wavelits
that made up the surface of the dangerous bay
The Lion's nose was a dock, it's teeth the war boats
it's main hundreds of enthusiastic militia
jumping on the bald open space before the water

The palm tree bent down in the wind as if  a tiger lowering itself to attack
The neighborhoods behind the city would be a comic display indeed
each house or cabin a joke, each apartment complex a hilarious analogy
To take eyes off the violence, to seperate them from the lions and tigers

To give them some kind of visual stimuli
to distract their war owned minds and give them paint and homelife decor
Yet the palm tree was a lion
