Beach garden drama

Hiding under the banana leaf
Protected from the sun, six legs and a life so brief
Next to the beach's cactus garden
The sand crab ambles underneath

Dry hot breezes come through the sandy cactus city
Carrying sand and eating the little humidity
The sand crab stirs and exits his cover to risk a snack
An ant attempts to find shade as the crab scuttles like a road hungry taxi

yet hesitates for out of the corner of his erected eyes is a shadow that forms a grin
For the beach falcon one kilometer above has spotted the little red crustacean
And in seconds will be upon him bearing down to fix his own bite to eat
A shattered shell and a sharpened beak through his flight does the falcon speak
