A mansion handed down

 The modern Mansion is being refurbished
Centuries of summers of dainty umbrellas
that shaded generations of license
Until the glow of those days had subsided

The offspring who walked out of the milky halls
Some dazzling, some quite mundane all fit.
They would leave in the entourage flux
To experience the humble streets outside

Doing business in the incredible towers
whose perturbing escalators would rise thousands of metres
Cover their noses and faces from the looming chimneys
Where they would fund the rebuilding of the residence
