A thousand dogs
Up and down the school yard
Pupils bark
Cannot see the danger of the bog
A small pond
Toxic for their allergies
carry the nerdlike boy
Across the pitch
Showing off
Some drop of fame
drop of sweat
meaningless gesture
Lost in time
gone from history
each boy a dog
Me i´m no different
A crown and some fleas
long grass and an instinct
to run randomly
misunderstand the world
lessons were slow and pointless
So lost and unknown
a furrball in need of a shelter
just a little dent in society´s silver panels
the light brown clay mushy and stenchy
watercress poking out of it like great towers
as if to convince the nerd it was safe
hospitalized after one slurp
A dog like me couldn´t save him
a dozen of these small town friends addicted to drugs
that was their dogfood it was their run o the beach
life was far too long and tedious
They had figured it out
And the teachers pale speechless face
couldn´t talk them out of it
So they´d live like that
Dog like me just observed from outside the country
thousands of miles away
befriended by abstract thoughts
each one a different mixed breed of dog
The nerd cliche hit the big time
his robe and crown dwarfed mine
paled my face and emptied the word from my gut
he above their lil shanty life
a thousand dogs chase their silly spring cut cars
dreaming of the decades past
modern boy scoffs at
old dogs hunger to get into still
Nerd grins because he got royalties
On your hobbyish existance
