Eighteen was a dash

Hopes and dreams have led us here
whirls and drills have pearled your dreary
Your forehead up on fire under your hair
New beginning nod nearby
\
Maybe the fruits of your sweat are fattening
Tumbling down a christmas present toward you
Horrid comments and excuses slow release lose

Yet no loss and melting frosts south east sun bruises
No costs and freedom sweeps sweet swanky dreams
under the fan air cooling tropical milky steam
Faith- your hand, your juice, your leaf!
/
Damp dries off effort, hardens
enough mirth for my vanguard, enough fert for my garden

Struggle now solidified into gold nuggets
The path mostly smooth, though a tad rugged
A beauiful nod by our northern angel head
A huge stash of slow release win

Thankful

Quest toward the afterlife

We Satan, We God
The egg and the semen
The benevolent angel, The malevolent demon
the negative shake, a positive nod

The handshake in light, the three pronged scolding prod
My heart divided between...
The shade's haven for parastitic creatures
The light's home for symbiotic beings

As we stand in the corridor halfway between birth and death
naked and vulnerable blind to ourselves, eyes on the rest
Pleading in a whisper
To not be devoured in the twist

Age a violent giant treading on us to get over the mountains
the ones we climb half blind toward mirage afterlife fountains
half frozen, half burnt searching for meaning and belief
Our hearts safely stored in caves, while our bodies continue to climb empty

Have you seen heaven yet, even in a dream and if so tell the tale
Have you seen hell already does it match our infinite portrayals
does it reflect life's agony and ailments
Does either make us wiser

or are they both just punishments and prizes
We little impatient demons and angels
in lives we struggle to handle
and struggle to accept the extinguishing of our very own candles

The wailing lazy

From the couch they scream indignation
And vent their pent up threaded frustration
Social justice from a sitting position
Got the outrage just lacking the mission

Photos that were made in a factory
cutting out the truth with politically correct scissors
Hiring the victims to horrify the listeners
Creative tragedies catered to fit

Someone just called the bluff
by comparing the reality of third world rough
Now open eyes see over privilege
not even grateful for how you live

Faceless

Here I am
Mirror a fisherman
On the end of the jetty

My chin wider at a smile
My bed a whale
My beard a captain
my mouth a ship about to set sale

My eyes slipping on the sights
sipping up beauty
My pupils fruit seed lights
planted on a far off jungle route

My cheeks fly off like frightened birds
And my forehead bounces off my head absurdly
My ears disappear before they even heard

And now I have no face
Thank god, like a deciduous tree losing it's leaves
It's not about the surface, just what's underneath

Indifference swell

The boy became a man round and overweight
The food filled him until he was 23 full plate
Gumboot legs and tyre waists
Pizza syrup and sweat feast good
paddling pool of lard to victimhood

A flat tyre boy scored on by layabouts
self esteem reduced to a mere 0.2
He bought some bright new lies for his few truths
The excuse he needed to sing the blues
suffer a whole decade missing every obvious clue

He lost the kilos and gained the swagger
Yet formed madness of the mind which cut like a dagger
After that nothing really settled well
He went back to the mundane passive space in a shell
His concern for the world shrunk and indifference swelled

Puberty horror

The skinny teenager sways and shivers
embarrassment fifteen
Wearing their skin awkwardly
Hormones now dominant

On the bounce, ice cream melts ruminate
Study, liberalize and suddenly illuminate
You got some fifth grade frustrations
A million scolding throbbing hot temptations

The hair ricochets off the shoulder
the hair cascades, rolling your stomach boulder
legs stretch as do smiles
you fold as you confirm her as the wild card holder

Waffle taste buds saliva drowns you
the mind gulps down fantasies that are untrue
loins quiver, coins jingle you wing it fearfully
And flirt between suspicious glances carefully

New college paint fills your nose
interrupts her perfume spray rose
Interrupting your mental picture of her pose

Acne in the mirror
The facial greasy terror
How are you going to date young sir
Insecurities so loud you can't even hear her

The clumsy spy

Your special identity still leaves a trace
Secret agent among the human race
Not even recognizing your own face
Getting lost in the details of someone elses mission

pushing exhaustive hours
Telling yourself you have power
Getting to know the now

You trip over your laundry basket and shoe laces
Morning slapping you across the face
lost your badge and costumes

Thinking no one knows who you are and none so curious to delve
when some of them see you clearer than themselves
Thinking past brief exchanges equal friendships and fame
When some them can't even remember your name

The world can't worship you, when you are not bold
for what identity have you bought or sold
what traits are you still in debt for

So many just deaf to their calling
Like a farmer fishing on a trawler
Are you one like this old son

A secret agent who needs help
to reveal your identity to yourself
