He was a puddle of a human being, one of us
Riddled with rainbow car oil above the mud
on the adolescent stony road to nowhere
an abandoned school where idiot students found hell
He dared to lap up that in himself, not even hopeful for a creek
thirst had to be quenched and it was he who chose impatience over prudence
He still wanted long grass in the summer sun for hiding games with kids his age
Though the sun goes down quickly and painfully over those ways
endless beaches and no love
puddles polluted by the traffic
hyper important
I've got a shirt to wear
we get caught in those holes in the road
surplus rainwater trucks ride over
splashing us everywhere
from quaint country roads to daunting blunt ground down debris city circuits
No mercy from beginning to end
just a will for order and rationale
and a quest to tick as many things off the list as you can before you die
expand through cracks in the tarmac and pray that it rains
Get what you can my lovely puddles accumulate your debris and toxic run off
