Elvis and those drugs

It all shook him up
like emotion in a cup
weekends of crushed pills
trusted circle of friends snorting smoking gurgling

Elvis and his sanity melted like mall sugar
Expectations as long as side burns
Washing down a mouthful of crushed pills
Infront to of t.v and his child

Give it all away, eyes down
as it all came to easy, fools look up
A species on a poster
to live on in the hall of fame

To never overdose
or enter the coffin
to have those last fat years before the grim reaped forgotten
To be known as the king even when all manner of debauchery was the regime
